The Occurrence of Fingerprint Characteristics as a Two-Dimensional Process,

Abstract

The model for occurrence of fingerprint characteristics in terms of multinomial trials on a grid of cells is extended to consider dependence between cells. The occurrence of the characteristics is modelled as a two-dimensional Markov process. The relationship with infinitely divisible random vectors is indicated. (Author)
