The Occurrence of Fingerprint Characteristics as a Two-Dimensional Poisson Process.

Abstract

The individuality of a fingerprint is based on the configuration of occurrences of the ten Galton characteristics. The existing model for the occurrence of these characteristics, in terms of a grid of cells, is further developed. The occurrence of the characteristics is modelled as a two-dimensional multivariate Poisson process. (Author)
