A Preliminary Analysis of Surface Displacement by Tides of the Solid Earth.

Abstract

A computer routine is specified for the dislocation of points on land by the tides of the solid earth. The action of the moon as well as that of the sun are accounted for. Included are a discussion of the theoretical background and some trial data. The data suggest that typical displacements of a surface station are on the order of several ten centimeters, in the radial direction. (Author)
