Heat Transfer Measurements of Safety Apparel Fabrics.

Abstract

Twenty-one fabrics of possible use in thermal protection were submitted for evaluation of their heat transmission characteristics. Measurements of heat transfer were made on exposure of the fabrics to flame contact and to radiation at flux levels of practical interest. The results are summarized in Table I and discussed with respect to their use in design of improved thermal protection clothing. (Author)
