Computer Modeling of Diode Circuits and Its Applications.

Abstract

This technical report presents a computer model for calculation of multiple diode circuits. The model solves iteratively a system of nonlinear equations in the time domain and obtains frequency domain information by means of a Fourier series expansion. Applications for this model include prediction of one and two tone intermodulation performance for single-ended, balanced and double balanced mixers, calculation of the multiple-signal capture range of back-to-back diode limiters, and prediction of the performance of a frequency doubling front-end for detection and identification of Pseudo-Noise BPSK modulated signals. Experimental data was collected for some diode circuits. This data agreed qualitatively with the calculated results. (Author)
