Bayesian Inference on Parameters Associated with Families Closed under Reciprocation.

Abstract

Recently, Saunders 1974 has generalized the so-called reciprocal property for normality. Distributions having this property are called xi-normal, and it is of interest to make statistical inferences about the relevant parameters when sampling from such a distribution. Previous work on such problems has been from the sampling viewpoint. This paper approaches the inference problem from the Bayesian point of view and investigate the posterior of the parameters involved when sampling is from the xi-normal with parameters alpha and beta. Two spectral cases are examined.
