Dynamics of Complex Structures-Analysis and Experiment: Damaged Aircraft Stabilators.

Abstract

This report presents the results of an experimental and analytical program employed to determine the effect that damage to a horizontal stabilator has on structural characteristics such as stiffness, natural frequencies and damping. A simplified method of computing the change in the fundamental frequency as damage increases is also developed. (Author)
