Preliminary Report on the Thermodynamic Properties of Selected Light- Element and Some Related Compounds

Abstract

This report presents a number a new thermodynamic properties resulting from recent NBS experimental studies and their interpretation, as well as descriptions of improved measuring techniques in two areas. Earlier NBS enthalpy measurements on the compound BeO.Al2O3 (O-1200 K) are extended up to 2400 K, leading to the heat of fusion and the common thermodynamic properties well into the liquid range. The infrared matrix spectra of lithium fluoride and an alkali hydroxide CsOH, with isotopic variations, have been obtained and interpreted, yielding the vibrational frequencies.
