Abstract

This report provides technical and economic information to help Army Facilities and District Engineers develop projects for converting installation heating and power systems to using coal as a primary fuel. The report includes a general overview of the coal conversion and supply problem; coal delivery, handling, and storage; boiler conversion; boiler replacement; salvage fuels; coal gasification; and air pollution control.
