Past Chinese-African Involvement.

Abstract

This special report reviews the history of Chinese-African involvement beginning with the Bandung Conference, 18-24 April 1955. China's interests and objectives in Africa are not solely political and ideological, but extend to economic and strategic areas as well. The current Chinese emphasis upon domestic, industrial, and economic expansion will tax their resources and productive base in the near term. China's ultimate success or failure in black Africa rests in their hands. (Author)
