Evaluation of Alternatives for Restoring the South Boiler House at Joliet AAP to High-Sulfur-Coal Burning Capability.

Abstract

This report evaluates alternatives for restoring the south boiler house at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant to burn high-sulfur coal in an environmentally acceptable manner. The boiler house was examined to assess its coal handling and burning capability. Various flue-gas cleaning devices were then field evaluated to determine their potential application at the Joliet plant for particulate removal and for flue-gas desulfurization. (Author)
