The Use of Air Force Field Maintenance Data for R and M Assessments of Ground Electronic Systems.

Abstract

This report presents the results of a study on the use of Air Force field maintenance data for the reliability and maintainability assessment of operational ground electronic equipments. A currently operational relatively complex ground electronic equipment was used as a study vehicle. Comparisons are made between the r and M estimates derived from the field data versus similar estimates obtained from the r and M design and development program. The study identifies the major limitations in the field data for use in field r and M assessment. Recommendations for improving the quality and usability of the field data are also made. (Author)
