Dipole Broadside Glide Slope Array.

Abstract

This report describes the analysis and design, and the fabrication and test of an improved glide slope antenna system. It is capable of providing CAT II performance over level ground, rising ground, and severe broken ground associated with problem sites. It is broadband and can operate at any ILS glide slope frequency with no special tuning. A new monitoring technique was developed which is applicable to any antenna system consisting of a large number of radiators. The report contains the results of antenna range measurements and flight check data taken at a typical site. (Author)
