Minicomputer Controlled System for Testing Telemetry Receiving and Recording Systems.

Abstract

This report describes a minicomputer controlled system for testing telemetry receiving and recording stations and presents sample test results. Details of the interface between the minicomputer and the test equipment are also presented. The system can test a telemetry receiving and recording station in about one/fifth the time it takes to manually test the station. The test results are printed out and can be stored on the computer for trend analysis and other statistical analyses. The system accuracy is + or - 1.0 dB or better for all tests. The results of the various tests correlate well with each other and with manually performed tests. It has been demonstrated that a minicomputer controlled system can perform a good, fast, accurate test on a telemetry receiving and recording station. (Author)
