Flood Plain Information Bushkill Creek, Vicinity of Easton, Pennsylvania.

Abstract

In Northampton County, Pa., the city of Easton and other communities are subject to flooding by Bushkill Creek and the Delaware River. Commercial and residential properties on the flood plain of Bushkill Creek were severely damaged by a flash flood on July 9, 1945. The area in the City of Easton near the confluence of Bushkill Creek and the Delaware River suffered severe damage from the flood of August 1955. This report included a history of flooding in the Bushkill Creek-Easton Pa. area and identified those areas which may be subject to possible future floods. Special emphasis was given to these possible future flood forecasts thru maps, photographs and profiles. While this report doesn't provide solutions it can aid in the identification of flood damage reduction techniques.
