Flood Plain Information, East Branch Chagrin River, Lake and Geauga Counties, Ohio.

Abstract

This report has been prepared because a knowledge of flood potential and flood hazards is important in land use planning of flood plains. It includes a history of flooding along the East Branch of the Chagrin River and identifies those areas of that are subject to possible future floods. Special emphasis is given to these floods through maps, photographs, profiles, and cross sections. This report does not provide solutions to flood problems; however, it does furnish a suitable basis for the adoption of land use controls to guide flood plain development and thereby prevent intensification of the loss problems.
