Flood Plain Information. Ottawa River-Tenmile Creek. Sylvania and Vicinity, Lucas County, Ohio.

Abstract

A knowledge of flood potential and its hazards is an essential ingredient of comprehensive land use planning and management decisions concerning flood plain utilization. The information contained in this report will not only assist local authorities and residents to better understand the causes of their flood problems., but will also provide necessary guidance in determining the best use of flood prone lands along Ottawa River and Tenmile Creek. This report is based on hydrological facts, historic data, and other technical information having a bearing on the occurrence and magnitude of flood discharges within the study area. Included are maps, profiles, photographs, and cross sections which indicate the extent of flooding that might occur in the future. (Author)
