High Fragmentation Steel Production Process

Abstract

Two heats of BOF HF-1 steel were purchased, one from Republic Steel and one from Bethlehem Steel. Essential steel manufacturing information was obtained for future reference. Both heats were metallurgically characterized with respect to microstructure, macrostructure, cleanliness, segregation, hardness, and obtainable tensile properties.
