Preliminary LIDAR Backscatter Measurements.

Abstract

The work reported here represents the results of an initial NRL effort to use existing equipment to assemble a working LIDAR. The goal of the effort was to obtain both hard-target and aerosol back-scatter signals, using existing NRL equipment. To this end the effort was successful. We report our methods, results, and equipment used. We also outline our plans for improving the system in FY-82. (Author)
