Electric Vehicle Power Controller.

Abstract

The design of a general purpose microcomputer-based control system for an electric vehicle drive unit is described. This is a research and development system designed with an active operator interface for evaluating performance, dynamic control, parameter modification, and test program interaction. A microcomputer controller processes speed commands and monitors battery energy consumption during the driving cycle. This design effort demonstrated that a unique one-of-a-kind microcomputer controller is easy to construct and interface with the vehicle's systems. (Author)
