Frequency Dependent Characteristic Impedance, Attenuation, and OHMIC Loss of Microstrip, Based upon Numerical Calculations of Effective Inductance,

Abstract

A general matrix method, suitable for efficient numerical solution on a high-speed computer, is adapted and applied to determine the current distribution and transverse magnetic field of uniform microstrip transmission lines. Line loss and frequency are included in the solution as necessary to produce accurate results for the current distribution. The current distribution is then used to provide the effective characteristic impedance per unit length, and attenuation of the line. The report includes a Fortran program listing. (Author)
