Maximum Likelihood Estimation of Item Response Parameters When Some Responses are Omitted.

Abstract

Two theoretical approaches are considered for dealing with omitted responses. A simple modification of the usual item response theory model leads to internal contradictions. An alternative model is suggested and some special cases are investigated. (Author)
