Slack Wire Strike Protection Concepts

Abstract

A design study has been conducted to establish slack wire strike protection concepts. The objective of the study was to define and investigate design concepts that could prevent helicopter mishaps caused by main and tail rotor controls entanglement with a slack wire. The study helicopter was an OH- 58A equipped with a taut wire strike protection system (WSPS)
