Social and Economic Impacts of Selected Potential Dredged Material Containment Facilities in Long Island Sound.

Abstract

The study discusses the analysis of social and economic impacts associated with the construction of prototype dredged material containment facilities at six potential locations along the Connecticut shoreline in Long Island Sound. The analysis includes determination of the economic efficiency of each of the six prototype containment facilities (Morris Cove in New Haven Harbor, Fayerweather Island in Black Rock Harbor, Yellow Mill Channel in Bridgeport Harbor, Clinton Harbor, Twatree Island of Waterford, and Black Ledge at the mouth of New London Harbor), and comparison with alternative disposal methods.
