Guidelines and Data to Support Plans for Reallocating Food during Crisis Relocation. Regional Appendix. FEMA Region VII,

Abstract

Approximately 94% of the food consumed in FEMA Region VII is warehoused within the region. The table below summarizes the source and magnitude of all shipments from warehouses to supermarkets within the region. All four states in FEMA Region VII (Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa and Kansas) are largely self-sufficient, warehousing between 70% to 89% of their food supplies within their borders. Thus there will be little requirement for interregional coordination for food distribution except in Iowa, where 13% of its food stocks come from another region (Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin in Region V).
