Software Retest Techniques.

Abstract

The purpose of this effort was to study and then develop techniques for maintaining software systems. The report focuses on current maintenance problems, various strategies for retesting, besides an analysis of these strategies. A methodology for retesting was developed that generates the minimum number of test cases to validate a code modification. To generate the minimum number of test cases the methodology analyzes the program data and logic structure dependencies. The selected test cases assure retesting of decision to decision paths (dd-paths) reaching the changed code and setting the changed data, and reached from the changed code and using the changed data.
