Archaeological Investigations in the Gainesville Lake Area of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Volume II. Gainesville Lake Area Ceramic Description and Chronology.

Abstract

Five prehistoric sites within the impact zone of the Gainsville portion of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway were excavated under this contract. This volume presents the ceramic analysis. Ceramics were classified into a type-variety system and were ordered in time. Other volumes present the excavations (Volume 1), the lithic analysis (Volume 3), the biocultural studies, (Volume 4),and the synthesis (Volume 5). (Author)
