A Collocation Method for Computing Eigenvalues and Eigenfunctions of the Laplacian.

Abstract

A boundary collocation method is presented for the computation of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Laplacian on bounded simply connected plane regions with smooth boundary. Particular emphasis is placed on the selection of an appropriate function space and its basis for the approximation of the eigenfunctions. Numerical examples are presented. (Author)
