Interactive Computer Graphics for System Analysis.

Abstract

The possible applications of computer graphics for control system design are considered in this thesis. The functional requirements of such a system are identified and discussed. Other topics such as graphics software, programming languages, user interface, and software design are vital to such an effort and are examined in detail. Based on the desirable features of device independent graphics, an implementation of the ACM/SIGGRAPH Core Standard Proposal is selected. To demonstrate the various applications for system analysis, a group of functions for analysis of continuous systems is implemented and tested. Sample results are provided and recommendations for further work are discussed. (Author)
