Instant Anchor for the Expeditionary Pier

Abstract

Anchoring systems for a large floating pier are discussed, including staff leg systems, single-point mooring, and dynamic positioning. A survey of anchor types is provided, and a composite mooring system called the 'Self- Contained Mobile Anchor' is presented. The moored behavior of a large floating pier is addressed, and it is concluded that a single-point mooring would be best way to position the pier.
