Abstract

This report presents a review and evaluation of potential in-place closure technologies. The report serves as a user's manual to guide the installation commander through the evaluation of the applicability of in-place closure. Technologies evaluated include soil cap systems, geotextile fabrics, nonsoil caps and liners, surface-water diversion techniques, slurry walls, grout curtains, well points, and biological, chemical, and physical treatment techniques, including desensitization.
