Center for Dielectric Studies at the Pennsylvania State University,

Abstract

Topics which have been of special interest over the first year include: relaxor ferroelectrics based on lead magnesium niobate, where the interest has been in the influence of modifier cations on both the sintering and electrical properties; relaxors in the PbFe1/2Nb1/203:Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)03 system; non-relaxor perovskites including materials with Li(+1) and Na(+1) forced onto the B site in the ABO3 structure. Low temperature studies in the KTa03 system. A new look is being taken at the grain size effects in BaTi03 on a joint program with Leeds University in England, and new measuring equipment has been added to the Laboratory both for ultra low and ultra high frequencies.
