The Ambiguity Function and the Wigner Distribution.

Abstract

This paper compares the radar ambiguity function and the Wigner distribution. Both functions are time-frequency representations of a given signal. The properties of each function are presented and their relationship is demontrated. Emphasis is placed on how each function relates to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.
