Electromagnetic Transmission through a Slot in a Perfectly Conducting Plane.

Abstract

When a plane wave is incident on a slot in a perfectly conducting ground plane of infinite extent, three quantities of interest are the tangential electric field in the aperture, the transmission coefficient, and the scattering cross section. It is assumed that the tangential electric field in the aperture is transverse to the slot axis and depends only on the coordinate along the slot axis. A computer program is presented to calculate the tangential electric field in the aperture, the transmission coefficient, and the scattering cross section. This program is described and listed. Sample input and output data are included for the convenience of the user. Keywords include: Aperture admittance; Computer program; Electromagnetics; Method of moments; Slot; Transmission coefficient.
