National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Lake Cochichewick Outlet Dam (MA 00278), Merrimack River Basin, North Andover, Massachusetts. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

The dam is about 12 ft. in height and includes a cutstone gate structure and underground conduit to convey water downstream. The dam is generally in good to fair condition. The size is intermediate and the hazard potential is high. A professional engineer should be hired to determine the size shape and condition of the outlet conduit in order to evaluate the hydraulic and structural adequacy of the structure. (Author)
