National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Megunticook Lake Dams (East ME 00278), (West ME 00279), Megunticook River Basin, Camden, Maine. Phase I Inspection Report

Abstract

The East and West Dams are unbound stone masonry gravity dams. The East dam has a concrete spillway and West has a timber spillway. The dams are about 14 ft. high. The dams are judged to be in fair condition. There are areas of major concern which must be corrected to assure the long-term safety of the dams. They are small in size with a hazard potential of high.
