Determination of the Modulation Transfer Function of Line Scanned Infrared Imaging Systems

Abstract

A computer model to determine the Modulation Transfer Function of a line scanned imaging system is discussed. The model can incorporate the effects of the atmospheric path, the system optics and the display as well as the detector's resolution limits. It can be used with single element or SPRITE detectors and its application to a design task is discussed. Keywords: Australia; Infrared Imaging Systems; Modulation Transfer Function.
