Polarization Pulse Compression and Group Complementary Codes.

Abstract

Doppler insensitive pulse compression may be achieved through intrapulse coding of the radiated polarization. By controlling the phase relationship between two transmit/receive channels, right hand or left hand circular polarization may be switched back and forth within the transmitted pulse according to a binary code. Such an approach will be enhanced in performance through the use of Group Complementary Coding which has the attribute of having zero time sidelobes. This report presents the above described method of pulse compression. (Author)
