Optical Symbolic Computing.

Abstract

Computer simulation programs have been written to simulate optical symbolic systems. The simulation includes ferroelectric liquid crystals, detectors, and conventional optical components. Individual components have been assembled and tested. The next phase of the work is to assemble a simple, but complete, demonstration system, compare the results with the simulations, and to correct the simulations. The design and simulation of more complex systems will be performed. Keywords: Optical computing, Artificial intelligence, Symbolic logic, Optical processing.
