Corrosion Behavior of P/M Mechanically Alloyed IN-9052.1, An Electro-Chemical Investigation.

Abstract

The corrosion behavior of P/M mechanically alloyed IN-9052 is compared to AA-6061-T6. Electrochemical techniques are used to study these alloys exposed to 3.5% NaC1. Scanning electron microscopy is used to characterize the morphology of freely corroding samples. A mechanism for pit initiation on IN-9052 is proposed.
