Determination of Drug Pharmacokinetics and Metabolic Profile. Volume 2

Abstract

The metabolism and pharmacokinetics of WR 238605 have been studied in beagle dogs after oral and intravenous administration of the carbon-14 labelled drug. Rates and routes of excretion and blood and plasma concentrations of the drug and its metabolites were measured after an intravenous dose of 0.936 mg/kg and after oral doses of 1.7 to 19.5 mg/kg. A similar study was carried out in rhesus monkeys after an oral and intravenous dose of 0.936 mg/kg. The bioavailability and pharmacokinetics of pyridostigmine have been studied in beagle dogs after intravenous doses and oral administration of different formulations including a syrup and extended-release tablets. Keywords: Cholinesterase inhibitors, Blood analysis, Halofantrine chloride, Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics.
