Security Assistance and the Relationship between Turkey and the United States.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to describe and analyze the U.S.-Turkey relationship in terms of Security Assistance Programs and their applications up to now, and to note positive and negative influences as a result of those programs. Contents: Brief Review of the U.S.-Turkey Relations (1945-1987); Security Assistance Programs and Applications; and Analysis of Motivation for Giving and Accepting Security Assistance.
