Analysis and Repair of Impact Damaged Composites

Abstract

This report discusses the repair of impact damaged grap hite/epoxy composite laminates. The behavior of delamination damage under both uniaxial and biaxial compressive loading is examined and the predictive capabilities of several fracture parameters are investigated. Based upon the results of this analysis a simple repair methodology is proposed and compared with experimental test results. Keywords: Graphite epoxy composites, Impact damage, Repair, Delaminating, Axial compression loads, Australia.
