Techniques and Procedures to Improve 25mm Gunnery of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle

Abstract

Research has been conducted to develop and evaluate procedures and techniques to improve 25mm gunnery of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The approach used for problem identification and development of solutions depended on the area of gunnery researched. This report summarizes research findings and products related to boresight equipment and procedures, zeroing procedures, firing control checks, battle sight gunnery, range estimation, aiming, and use of the auxiliary sight unit. Findings and products will be integrated into the BFV Gunnery field manual (FM 23-1), recommended as changes or additions to the turret technical manual (TM 9-2350-252-10-2), and used to indicate design and operational problems with fielded boresight equipment.
