ISDN: State of the ART

Abstract

This report describes AIRMICS' on-going research in the area of ISDN. The report first describes those technologies that are key to the development of today's telecommunications system and then traces its evolutionary history. Next, a discussion of ISDN is given to include its description, benefits, costs, applications, and current status of implementation. The following section describes the research being conducted by AIRMICS, to include a description of its applications research testbed (ART). Finally, some concluding remarks are presented.
