This document describes investigation carried out by a select team of researchers centered at UCSD together with researchers from UCSB and UCLA (focused on smart pixels integration), the packaging alliance at Cornell and UCLA (for array interfaces and system packaging) and our industrial partners including Hughes (for 3-D electronics and optical storage interfacing), Honeywell and Rockwell (for packaging), and AT&T (for diffractive optics)
