Further Examinations on the Thermodynamic Stability of the Mie-Grueneisen Equation of State

Abstract

The Mie-Gruneisen equation of state (EOS) is further examined for restrictions upon the form of the Gruneisen parameter. Employing basic thermodynamic rules and applying them to the Mie-Gruneisen EOS, a more restrictive condition is offered for the Gruneisen parameter, which extends previous work on the subject.
