Knowledge-Based Guidance and Control Functions (Application des Systemes Experts Pour le Guidage et le Pilotage).

Abstract

This report summarises the deliberations of Working Group 11 of the Guidance and Control Panel of AGARD. The objectives of the Working Group were: (1) Analyze the structure of knowledge-based guidance and control functions related to aircraft, missions, and the battlefield and identify their potential for automation. (2) Analyze the structure of knowledge-based guidance and control functions related to the life cycle of guidance and control systems, and identify their potential for automation. (3) Review the state-of-the-art of those software and hardware oriented technologies required for the transfer of the knowledge-based G&C functions to automatic systems. (4) Review existing programmes. (5) Make recommendations for future work.
