Measurements of Ionospheric Variability.

Abstract

This document reports on FY 94 progress in the ongoing measurement of ionospheric variability. Two measurement campaigns are described and results-to-date are presented. Comparisons of measured signal power are made to predictions from the PROPHET ionospheric propagation model. Examples of a new variability index for several ionospheric F-region parameters (foF2, MUF(3000), hmF2, and ymF2) are presented.
