A Large-Dynamic-Range Fiberoptic Signal Link for Low-Frequency Signals

Abstract

The fiberoptic signal link was intended specifically for transmission of instrumentation signals from a test object immersed in a strong rf field, where electrically conducting connections were unsuitable. The link has a dc-to-1O-kHz bandwidth and a 7D-dB dynamic range with 1 percent linearity. The design is practical, using low-cost electronic and electro-optic components. (KAR) p. 2
